The program is a 30 credit hour Masters in Accounting curriculum that students may complete in 1 year (2 terms) of full-time study. Part-time students can earn their Masters in Accounting on their own individually designed timeframes.

The goals of the Masters of Science in Accountancy program are to provide graduates with the ability to recognize dysfunctional accounting situations, the capacity to engage in accounting research and communicate findings in a clear and concise manner, the skills required to work as a member of a professional team by coordinating actions and efforts to solve accounting problems, an overall understanding of accounting and financial concepts, and the capacity to recognize and respond appropriately to ethical and regulatory dilemmas

The Masters Degree in Accounting is to first offer its participants a current and rigorous training in the area of accounting, allowing them to field a good theoretical and practical knowledge of the latest occurring in the area, which are now essential to ensure successful entry into the the labor market.
To this end, specific skills are offered in three main sections:
1 - the financial aspect, mainly through the study of accounting standards developed by major international bodies;
2 - Economically, and examined some of the most important tools to support decision making in time for managers;
3 - Strand tax to cover

Eligible Missouri State undergraduate accounting majors may apply for admission to the MAcc program during the second semester of their junior year. If accepted, they earn graduate credit for six hours of 500-level accounting electives and count these hours toward both degrees. This option allows Missouri State accounting majors to obtain the Masters degree with a total of 152 semester hours rather than the normal 158 semester hours.
Admission Criteria
Completion of ACC 301, 302, 311, and 321 or 341 with a GPA of 3.00 or better.
An overall GPA of 3.00 or better.
