When you submit your application for admission, it is important that you indicate whether you intend to apply for financial aid. Once the admissions office receives your completed application, you will be contacted to initiate your financial aid application. Only accepted students, whose financial aid applications are complete, will be considered for financial aid awards. To maintain awards, students must demonstrate satisfactory academic progress. Students must refer to the Post University catalog (see page 40) to understand the specific requirements for meeting SAP.
Procedures for Applying for Federal Financial Aid
If you are applying for Federal Financial Aid, you must remember to use Post University’s school code on your submission 001401. For fall admissions, it is best to apply by February 15. All other applicants are advised to apply for financial aid immediately after submitting an admission application. For fall admissions, financial aid applicants after February 15 will be considered on a first come, first serve basis. For best results, follow the steps outlined below:
The Free Federal Financial Aid Form (FAFSA): Students and parents can easily apply for the FAFSA electronically via www.fafsa.ed.gov. This is the most efficient and effective way to apply for federal financial aid. You will need Post University’s school code when applying 001401.
IRS Form(s) 1040 and Attached Schedules may be requested if you are selected for Verification (see pop up window info). At minimum, students and parents will need their W-2 forms from all jobs held last year, in order to accurately complete the FAFSA.
Recommended Deadline is February 15. For best results, the FAFSA should be electronically submitted, by this date, via www.fafsa.ed.gov, using the Post University school code 001401.
It is a good idea to have already applied for the Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) loan prior to applying for Federal Financial Aid. Your financial aid tuition planner will advise and assist you with this process. Once we receive the results of your FAFSA submission, our financial aid staff will send you an award letter outlining the financial plan options available to you.
Financial Need
When students and their parents complete the FAFSA with the Post University school code 001401, the University in most cases will receive an institutional student aid report within 3 days. The federal government determines your financial need through its own methodology.
Application Deadlines
For fall admissions, Post University recommends that students and parents complete the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 15, using our school code 001401. Post University understands that paying for college is the main obstacle in achieving an education and a successful career. Therefore, we encourage you, and the families and guardians involved, to apply for federal aid. For best results apply by our recommended deadline.
