The UBC Diploma in Accounting Program is open to:
University business degree graduates with a non-accounting major.
University degree graduates from a non-business program.
Mature applicants (GMAT test results and documented accounting-related work experience required).

NO ACCOUNTING DEGREE

The program is specifically designed for students who do not have a background/degree in Accounting, therefore in order to qualify for the MSA program, applicants may not hold a degree or certification in Accounting regardless of where it has been received.

4 YEAR BACHELOR DEGREE IN ACCOUTING

All applicants must have the equivalent to a 4-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. If you have a bachelor’s degree of less than 4 years, you will need your degree to be evaluated by the International Student Office (408-924-5920). Additional coursework may be needed in order to equate the degree to a 4-year degree.

GRADE POINT AVERAGE

Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 semester units (or 90 quarter units) of coursework.

GMAT

The GMAT exam is a required test for all applicants. A mandatory total score of 500 or better, including scores above the 50th percentile on both quantitative and verbal sections. The GMAT exam is valid for 5 years from the date of testing. For more information on preparing for/scheduling the GMAT test please go to http://www.ets.org/tests.html

Please note that the GRE and LSAT are not acceptable test scores for admission to the MSA program.

TOEFL

If the applicant holds a degree from a University where the medium of instruction was NOT English, the TOEFL exam will be required. The applicant must receive a minimum score of 550 (paper score), 213 (computer score), 80 (Internet based). The exam is valid for 2 years from the date of testing. F-1 VISA STATUS

Once accepted into the program, all international students will be required to apply for an F-1 Visa in order to complete the internship portion of the program.

Undergraduate Programs

To qualify for an undergraduate program, the candidate must hold a degree in secondary education, with five pre-university course of 12 years, subject to the prior programs, and display a overall average of 65% on five courses. Note that it requires a minimum score of 65% over the course of French and 60% over the four other courses qualify.

BBA in Accounting at University of Hawaii - Manoa, Hawaii

The School offers a Bachelor of Business Administration degree (BBA) with a major in Accounting. Approximately two of the four years of University work are spent in meeting general education requirements, one year is devoted to a broad business education, and one year is devoted to a concentration in Accounting.

In order to obtain a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting degree, a student must be admitted into the Shidler College of Business.

Admission Requirements

1. Student must successfully complete and obtain a cumulative average of 70% in the following courses:

2. A grade of not less than 70% in ACCT130 .

3. Department approval based on intake capacity - priority is given to students with higher scores in the courses above and where these are even, other academic criteria can be sought by the department committee.

Master of Professional Accounting at University of Notre Dame Australia

Course length (full-time equivalent): 2 years

A graduate program designed to enable graduates without an accounting degree to obtain the requisite qualifications to enter the accounting profession.

This course has professional recognition and accreditation from CPA Australia and Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Admission Requirements:
A Bachelor degree from a recognised tertiary institution demonstrating the attainment of satisfactory grades.

Admission requirements bachelor in Accounting at Université du Québec à Montréal

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Accounting concentration or financial performance) or the equivalent, obtained with a cumulative average of at least 3.2 to 4.3 or equivalent.

Any application involving a cumulative average of less than 3.2, but equal to or greater than 2.8 will be considered by the subcommittee for admission and evaluation and may, exceptionally, to be recommendation for admission. If the subcommittee considers it necessary, the candidate will require additional courses and (or) maintaining a minimum cumulative average for a given set of program activities.

Applicants must have sufficient knowledge of French (both orally and in writing) and a functional command of reading English, the reference documents are often written in that language. This knowledge can be assessed by the program. The candidate who did not meet those requirements could be imposed on academic upgrading.

Applicants must also have sufficient knowledge of word processing, presentation, database and spreadsheet.

Admission procedures

The application for admission must be sent to the Registrar and shall include:
- The completed application form
- A letter written by the candidate stating his expectations in the program
- Two letters of recommendation
- Statements of official transcripts of all university, except those carried out at UQAM
- The curriculum vitae of the candidate
- A copy of birth certificate
- Payment of fees.

Any document written in a language other than French or English must be accompanied by an official translation into one of these two languages.

Methods and selection criteria
Candidate selection is based primarily on the review of documents and letters of recommendation.
