DESCRIPTION OF TEACHING
General presentation and objectives of studies Organised in collaboration with the University of Geneva, this programme aims to train future leaders of business enterprises and future experts in accounting, control, finance, auditing and tax systems. It also prepares students for possible studies leading to the doctorate.
The content of the first two semesters of the programme include a range of courses covering basic areas of the programme: financial accounting, management control, corporate finance, external auditing and tax systems. The courses represent a continuation of those offered in the Bachelor’s degree programmes of the Faculties of Business and Economics of Geneva and Lausanne and assume that students have already acquired the knowledge developed in these respective fields.
In the third semester, students study the programme’s core disciplines in a more academic way in preparation for writing their dissertation. They also have the opportunity to specialise or to broaden their knowledge by exercising a free choice of 12 course credits.
In the fourth semester, the participants of this Master’s degree course choose between a professional or an academic study orientation. Students who intend to perfect their training with a full-time professional internship of at least 12 weeks need to find a host organisation and to be involved in a project allowing them to write their diploma dissertation. Those who wish to pursue their studies with the aim of obtaining a doctorate may, working in collaboration with one of the degree course professors, write a research dissertation laying the foundations of their doctorate work.
