Major in Accounting at Camosun College

The Campbell Advantage
Most universities and many colleges offer the accounting major. But Campbell offers you a program that is exceptionally strong and unique, because…

o You will enjoy the benefits of a large university business program within small-classroom settings…

o You will take courses available only at Campbell from teachers who take the time to know you personally; and…

o You will earn a degree from a university distinguished by our dedication to quality liberal arts education, free enterprise, and our Christian Mission.

o The Campbell Program
We have created an innovative program designed to prepare you for a variety of options, including: accepting challenging positions with CPA firms, corporations, government, and not-for-profit organizations; or pursuing a Master of Business (MBA), Master of Accountancy, or law school degree.
Our majors meet all educational requirements for eligibility to sit for North Carolina CPA exam and that of most other states. You will also have two programs from which to choose.

· Our traditional four-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a major in accounting; or,

· Our unique five-year 3/2 program which allows you to earn both a BBA and MBA.

We also offer undergraduate courses you rarely find elsewhere. For example, Total Quality Management (TQM) has become a major corporate priority nationally, yet we are one of the few colleges or universities to offer it in an integrated fashion with cost accounting. Our majors can also enroll in estate and gift and financial planning courses offered through Campbell’s one-of-a-kind Trust Management Program.

Bachelor Accounting at Nipissing University

Nipissing university’s accounting stream prepares our students for more than just designations!

The first impression that some students have about accounting is that it is not fun. But accounting isn’t all about numbers. The accounting stream at Nipissing will help you develop your writing, thinking, creative and verbal skills to make you successful in today’s marketplace. Our graduates have gone on to work with the government in their innovation area. They have climbed large oil tanks to verify oil quantities and swam with dolphins in the Caribbean!

Accounting remains a very appealing market both in the financial and management area.
Students go on to pursue their CA, CMA and CGA or obtain management positions in industry after graduation. Others enter our faculty of education and become teachers in high school and some even teach oversees after graduation.

The accounting faculty has a wide range of research interests and as an undergraduate student, you can work with us. We are doing research on Internet Reporting and Human Resource issues in accounting. We enjoy working with our students and maintaining contact with them after graduation.

Our Professional Experience Benefits You
Nipissing’s accounting faculty are Chartered Accountants (CA) and Certified Management Accountants (CMA). We bring real life experiences to the classroom to help you. We are one of only a few Universities in Ontario that offer preparation programs to assist you in preparing for the CA and CMA professional examinations.
A Suggested Program of Study

We do case analysis, group work and presentations. All of these methods will help prepare you for the world after graduation. We have small classes, enabling us to do simulations that help you to understand the concepts in class. Have you ever wondered if there really were two scoops of raisins in Raisin Bran? Do you really think that there is truly ‘double the stuff’ in Oreo’s Double Stuffed Cookies? Join an auditing class at Nipissing and find out!
