In Year 1, you focus on the core subjects and skills of financial and management accounting, learning the basics of business studies and information analysis alongside a range of business modules of your choice. In Year 2 and your final year, you study the principles of financial and management accounting techniques. In addition, you can choose from a wide range of specialist areas to develop your learning according to your interests, such as finance, taxation or auditing.

An optional work placement is available during your third year and is especially useful for students with limited work experience. In the final year, 50% of modules are designated ‘honours components’ that build on the knowledge and skills gained in Year 2 and develop your ability to study and learn independently. They may include a dissertation or synoptic modules that require you to bring together and apply learning from the whole of your course and options chosen from the different aspects of accounting.

Course content
